Managing Student Practice Plans

Once exercises are assigned, you can view and manage each student's practice plan.

Viewing a Student's Practice Plan

How to access: 1. Go to Student Management 2. Click on a student's card 3. Navigate to the "Practice Plan" or "Exercises" tab

What you'll see: - List of all exercises currently assigned to this student - Status of each exercise: - Not Started: Student hasn't opened or recorded it yet - In Progress: Student has attempted it at least once - Completed: Student has finished it (usually means they recorded and got analysis, or hit a milestone you defined) - Metadata: When assigned, how many attempts, latest Q-Orb scores

Why this matters: You can see at a glance whether a student is practicing what you assigned. If an exercise has been "Not Started" for weeks, that's a conversation starter: "I noticed you haven't tried that breath control exercise — is it too hard? Need help?"

Reordering Exercises in Practice Plans

Some platforms let you set the order exercises appear in a student's plan, creating a suggested sequence.

How to reorder (if available): 1. View the student's practice plan 2. Look for drag handles or "Reorder" mode 3. Drag exercises up or down to set priority 4. Save the new order

Why order matters: Students often work through their practice plan top to bottom. Putting warm-ups first, then skill-building exercises, then challenges creates a logical flow.

If reordering isn't available: Use naming conventions ("1 - Warm-Up," "2 - Pitch Work," "3 - Challenge") or assign exercises in the order you want them practiced.

Removing Exercises from Practice Plans

If an exercise is no longer relevant, you can unassign it.

How to unassign: 1. View the student's practice plan 2. Find the exercise you want to remove 3. Click the remove icon or "Unassign" button 4. Confirm

What happens: - The exercise disappears from the student's practice plan - They're no longer prompted to work on it - Historical data (recordings, scores) is preserved — you're just removing it from their current to-do list

When to unassign: - The student has mastered the exercise (consistent 85%+ scores) - You realize the exercise is too hard or not the right fit - You want to focus their attention on different skills - The exercise was time-sensitive (audition prep that's now past)

Teaching tip: Don't be shy about unassigning. Practice plans should evolve. Keeping outdated exercises clutters the plan and dilutes focus.
