Message Best Practices

1. Be Specific

Don't just say "Good work." Say "Great work hitting your pitch accuracy goal three times this week."

2. Be Timely

Send messages soon after the event (baseline improvement, good practice week, etc.). Fresh praise is more impactful.

3. Be Genuine

Don't send generic auto-messages that feel robotic. A quick, authentic note beats a long, formulaic one.

4. Keep It Short

Students are busy. 2-3 sentences is often enough. Save long messages for when you need to explain something complex.

5. Use Positive Framing

Instead of "You haven't practiced in 2 weeks," try "I haven't seen you practice lately — everything okay?"

6. Invite Dialogue

End with a question or opening for response: "Let me know if you need anything!" or "How's it going?"
