Using Progress Data in Lessons

Lesson Opening: The Data Check-In

Start lessons with a quick look at their progress:

Example: - "I see you practiced 4 times this week and hit a baseline improvement in pitch accuracy — let's hear about that!" - "Your timing precision has been climbing for a month. How does it feel to you?" - "I notice you haven't hit any goals in note precision lately. Let's focus on articulation today."

Mid-Lesson: Reference Metrics

When working on technique, tie it to their data:

Example: - "You're working on breath support. Look at your voice instability metric — it's been high. Solid breath support should bring that number down." - "Let's record this exercise and see if we can hit your pitch accuracy goal together."

Lesson Close: Set Data-Driven Goals

End with specific, measurable goals:

Example: - "Your goal this week: Hit your timing precision goal 3 times. You're at 1/3 — let's get you to 3/3." - "Practice that breath control exercise and see if you can drop your voice instability below 3.0."
