Completing Your Professional Information

Even after initial setup, your profile is a living document. As you gain experience, complete new training, or change your rates, you can update everything from the Settings page.

Accessing Profile Settings

To edit your profile: 1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner 2. Select "Settings" (or "Account Settings") 3. Navigate to "Teacher Profile" or "General Settings"

You'll see all the same fields from setup, now editable and organized into sections.

Making Your Profile Public

By default, your profile is private — only you and your students can see it. If you want to use EchoVQ to attract new students, you can make your profile public, which means:

What public profiles show: - Your name, photo, and tagline - Your specializations, student levels, and location - Your experience, rates, and availability - Your degrees, qualifications, and affiliations - Up to 6 of your most recent custom exercises (previews, not full access)

What public profiles DON'T show: - Your private notes or student data - Email or contact info (unless you added it in "Public Contact") - Analytics or Student Insights

How to make your profile public: In Settings → Teacher Profile, look for "Profile Visibility" and toggle it to Public.

Why you might want a public profile: - Students browsing EchoVQ can find you - You have a professional presence on the platform - It's a simple landing page if you don't have a website - Shows transparency and confidence in your teaching

Why you might keep it private: - You have a full roster and aren't taking new students - You prefer referrals and word-of-mouth - You're just using EchoVQ for student management, not marketing - You're still building your credentials and experience

There's no wrong answer — public profiles are optional, and you can toggle visibility on and off anytime.

Adding or Updating Your Voice Sample

One unique feature: you can upload a voice sample — a short recording of you singing or demonstrating technique. This is optional but can be powerful for public profiles.

Why add a voice sample: - Students can hear your voice quality and style - It demonstrates your expertise ("I practice what I teach") - It's memorable — students remember what they hear

What to record: Keep it short (30-60 seconds) and representative of your style: - A clean recording of you singing a phrase or exercise - A demonstration of a vocal technique you teach - A warm, welcoming intro: "Hi, I'm [Name], and I help singers..."

Technical tips: - Record in a quiet space with decent audio (phone is fine if it's clear) - No need for professional studio quality — just clear and pleasant - Avoid overly processed or auto-tuned recordings (students want to hear the real you)

To upload a voice sample: Settings → Teacher Profile → Voice Sample → Upload

You can preview it, replace it, or remove it anytime.

Keeping Your Profile Fresh

Think of your profile as a reflection of your teaching practice. Update it when: - You complete new training or certifications - Your rates change - You shift your specialization focus - You want to attract a different type of student - You gain significant teaching experience (e.g., hitting 5 years, 10 years, 15 years)

Set a reminder: Many teachers review and update their profile once or twice a year, often at the start of a new teaching season (fall or new year). It takes 5 minutes and keeps everything current.
