Common Questions About Practice Activity¶
Q: Can students hide their practice activity from me? A: No. If they're your student, you can see their activity. This is part of the teacher-student relationship on the platform.
Q: What counts as a "practice session"? A: A session starts when a student opens an exercise and ends when they close it or are inactive for a certain period (usually 15-30 minutes of inactivity).
Q: Do abandoned sessions mean something is wrong? A: Not necessarily. Sometimes students get interrupted (phone call, doorbell) and don't formally end the session. But if you see lots of abandoned sessions, ask if they're having technical issues.
Q: Can I see what time of day students practice? A: Usually yes — session timestamps show when practice happened. This can be useful: if a student always practices at 11pm and sounds tired, suggest morning practice instead.
Q: What if a student practices a lot but I don't see recordings? A: They might be in "listen-only" mode (high playthroughs, low recordings). Encourage them to actually attempt the exercises, not just listen.
Q: Can students see their own practice activity? A: Usually yes — most platforms show students their practice log, session history, and stats. This is motivating and helps them self-regulate.
