Best Practices for Student Management

1. Add Students Promptly

When you take on a new student, add them to EchoVQ right away (even if you don't assign exercises yet). This ensures you don't forget, and it starts tracking their data from day one.

2. Use Tags Early and Often

Tags save time down the road. Even if you only have 5 students right now, start tagging them by lesson time or skill level. Future-you will thank you when you have 30 students and need to filter quickly.

3. Check Activity Indicators Weekly

Make it a habit to glance at the student list once a week and note any red or yellow dots. These students might need a quick check-in message or encouragement.

4. Celebrate Public Wins

When you see a student hit a baseline improvement or complete a challenging exercise, send them a message or mention it in your next lesson. Recognition is powerful.

5. Clean Up Your Roster Seasonally

At the end of each term or season, review your student list: - Remove students who are no longer active - Update tags to reflect new goals or groups - Archive or adjust exercises that are outdated

This keeps your dashboard clean and focused.

6. Use Bulk Actions

When assigning exercises, sending messages, or tagging, think in groups. If 5 students need the same thing, do it in one bulk action rather than 5 individual clicks.
